Routes
A route is an ordered sequence of waypoints. Step through it manually during a presentation and the canvas flies smoothly from one saved view to the next. There are no slides and no deck, just your spatial layout in motion.
Building a route
Open the Waypoints panel and create a new route. Then add waypoints to it in the order you want to present them. You can reorder them by dragging, and the same waypoint can appear in multiple routes.
Presenting a route
Select a route in the Waypoints panel and click Start. The canvas flies to the first waypoint. From there, use the navigation controls or keyboard shortcuts to move forward and back through the sequence.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Next waypoint | Alt + → |
| Previous waypoint | Alt + ← |
The fly animation
Transitions between waypoints are animated. The canvas pans and zooms simultaneously, giving the viewer a sense of where they are relative to where they were. This spatial continuity is what makes routes feel different from a slide deck: your audience always knows they're moving through a real layout.
Triggering items mid-route
Each waypoint in a route can optionally trigger an item when it's reached, such as opening a file, playing a video, or launching content inline. This is configured in the waypoint settings within the route. See Playlists for more on timed triggering.
Multiple routes per environment
An environment can have as many routes as you need. A research environment might have one route for a broad overview and another that digs into a specific area. A teaching environment might have a route per lesson. Routes are stored with the environment and persist between sessions.
