Waypoints

A waypoint saves your current view of the canvas: position and zoom level together. Jump back to it any time with a single click, or string multiple waypoints into a route for a guided walkthrough.

Creating a waypoint

Navigate to the area of the canvas you want to save, then right-click the background and choose Add Waypoint. You can also add one from the Waypoints panel. Give it a descriptive name; you'll thank yourself later.

Tip: Name waypoints after the content they show, not their position. "Season 3 Overview" or "Key References" is more useful than "Top Left" or "Waypoint 4."

Jumping to a waypoint

Click any waypoint in the Waypoints panel to fly the canvas to that view. The transition is animated: the canvas smoothly pans and zooms to the saved position rather than cutting abruptly.

You can also step through waypoints in order using Alt + and Alt + .

Managing waypoints

Open the Waypoints panel from the View menu. From here you can rename, reorder, or delete waypoints. Waypoints are saved with the environment, so they're always there when you reopen it.

Routes

Waypoints become more powerful when grouped into a route. A route is an ordered sequence of waypoints you can step through one by one, forming the basis for a spatial presentation. See Routes for how to build one.

Waypoints as navigation anchors

Even without routes or presentations, waypoints are worth setting up in any environment you return to regularly. Large canvases with many items get hard to navigate by memory. A set of named waypoints covering the main sections of your layout turns exploration into structured navigation.
